Yeah, DOD is extremely fun. Unfortunately, I didn't start playing it heavily until right before RTCW came out. Since the two are very similar I decided to go ahead and switch on over to the newer game.

I do, although nowhere near as much as I used to. CS was fun when I first played it, but I kept going back to TFC. Yes, it wasn't as "realistic" as CS, but I enjoyed the ability to play different classes and not just choose a different weapon to determine my role. I usually ended up being Medic on offense, Engineer on defense. For those who say there was no "team" in TFC you obviously never played on a good server. Yes, most public servers are just overrun with people 'looking out for #1,' but the same is true in the same percentage of CS games (moreso IMO.) I've never felt the same kind of teamwork you get on defense in some games of TFC. A crew of engineers and a couple of soldiers working together, rebuilding each other's guns, reloading armor and dispensors to fight off wave after wave of attack and adjusting their point of defense as the flags/keys/cap points shift. Mucho fun.

I guess that's part of the reason why I love RTCW so much now. It combines the best of TFC and CS. >>



Finally, another TFC fan. I'm an engy on defense as well. It's a great feeling when you're on a good server with teamwork. 🙂 Have you ever come across a player named Amused? That's me 🙂

What do you think of the new NEO TFC server mod?
 
I hate it the most when people accuse you of cheating even when you aren't. It gets even worse when the admin kicks you for thinking that you cheat...I remember the days when i could play CS for hours on end without getting tired. What have they done to CS.
 
Beta 4 - Beta 5.2 were the only good CS times. Gun running, wall strafing, knife running, scoped colt with no kick, FNP90 that had insane aim. Couldn't kill people with an Awp while jumping (which happens all the time on servers now, wtf?).

BLEH.
 
Man, I haven't played CS at all since DoD 2.0 came out. DoD has been great w/ very few cheaters. But yesterday I played against a guy who whas using aimbots and wall-hacks. It brought back bad memories of CS. It's sad 🙁

does anyone happen to know what ports need to be open on the firewall to get CS working... i actually installed it to play some 😛
 


<< It's still fun for me, I am an admin on a great server, and my clan is so much fun to play with. If the good people stick around, the cheaters will eventually give up, and realize they either can learn to play the game the right way, or end up being banned from every good server out there.

What I find more annoying is people constantly crying cheater! every time they get shot. People do get head shots, and people do have good K😀 ratios. >>

Hey CS is still awesome... I gave up playing for maybe half a year but started again this last week. A friend of mine has been playing every day the whole time so I have to practice so I can kick his ass. 😉 I've seen him go 16-0, it was pretty impressive. It took about an hour but I get back into it but once I got there I couldn't believe I ever stopped. I have seen a computer with OGC installed, it is an amazingly cheap hack. It destroyed my confidence in the game for a while. Anyone with a good record was suspect. Now though things seem to be different. Most servers I play on have no cheaters, and I think I've only seen the cheat detection thing pop up once or twice. I don't get booted for being too good either. Maybe I'm not good enough, but I've gone 29-8 after months of absence and usually am at the top of the scoreboard. 😉 Seriously, I think its just a matter of finding good clean servers, but once you know a few you're set.

I can't wait for Spring Break to be over so I can get back and play. 😉

roflmao, remmeber back in the day when you had ghosts opening doors and crap, changing names telling the opponent where the campers were, and having ghosts shine flashlights on people/ hahahahahahhaa

Mini apaches suck! engy d sucks too! its all about soldiers and medics conc jumping around the map!
People don't realize that you DonT have to kill everyone you see in tf, your goal is mainly to cap the flag/cp!
 
i remember sniper rifles with no black circle thing, no 9mm hk gun and 2 skins for each team.

Oh yeah DUST SUCKS, i cant stand that map no more. I cant figure out why people still pay it, i never liked that map anyway.
