Yacking on cellphone? Check!
Speeding? Check!
Not paying attention? Huh?

Driver was lucky (understatement if there ever was) and walked away from this. Happened just south of the city that I live in this winter.

I am not sure, but I *think* undue care and attention charges were laid to the driver of the Ford.

Sucks for that dude. That's a big splinter. Do you know if he was ok?

I thought the driver died with all that blood on the floor and the tree going through the glass. Oh well maybe next time.

It was totally legal. Flagged with flourescent tags on the end. During daylight, that is all you need. If it's at night, lights are needed though IIRC.

You must not live near any logging areas, huh?

That looks like a normal load of trees to me.

Yep. You just don't mess around with a log truck around, especially on icy/snow packed roads.

OP, where is this? It looks just like Hwy 97/58 in Oregon.

If what the OP says is right that he was yacking on the cellphone, then I hate to say it serves him right. I don't answer my cellphone if I'm driving, especially on an interstate. If I'm on a small road, I'll pull over.

Now if only insurance could ever count that as a deductable on a 20 yr old's insurance. =0)

<----- Not living near a logging area.

AFAIK the same rules apply here too for loads that extend past the bed of the trailer. Not saying the driver wasn't a dick, but, ya know.

Too bad about the washer + dryer. Wonder if that's covered under the Sears Extended Warranty?

LOL! They say it covers anything!
