I had raid 0 on an old motherboard that crapped out...I bought a new motherboard w/o raid + a raid card.... set up the raid drives, windows disk manager recognizes them but....

its unallocated
... so i set a disk letter to it, now i can see it in my computer, but cannot access because it is saying it needs to be formatted....

the problem is, i really need the data off of it, how can i add a file system w/o deleting.... I just need like 2 gigs worth of important data.....

please help

thanks

stop! dont do anything else to those drives or else you may perminently distroy the data.

Now go get yourself a decent data recovery application and hook the drives up to another computer and attempt to scan/recover the files from the other computer. Even if you havent already screwed up the drives by creating a new RAID array with them your odds are not very good of doing a full recovery; but it may be possible for you to recover some of the data.

Sorry about the bad breaks; RAID-0 should never be trusted with data you cant afford to loose.
