I want to get someone something engraved with a saying on it. This will be their 5th year anniversary for being baptized.

I am very unfamiliar with the bible and have been reading through bits and pieces for something to catch my interest, but the issue is that it has to be somewhat short. I am just starting to take aim in my religion so I am still ignorant.

If I could get an idea of a good quote from the bible, including where in the bible it is located, it would be greatly appreciated!

I'm not sure what you are asking. What would I like the saying to be or what would I like the object to be? I'm not sure on the object quite yet but that will be an easy obstacle. As far as sayings, I would like to get ideas.

I take this is a positive thing? hehe.

They are deeply rooted in their religion and I think it would be an extremely nice gesture.

Uhh... what type of Christian is your buddy, exactly? I've never heard of any denomination that celebrates the anniversary of one's baptism. Ever.

Romans 8:38-39
38For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons,[a] neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

?If anyone says, 'I love God,' yet hates his brother, he is a liar. For anyone who does not love his brother, whom he has seen, cannot love God, whom he has not seen (1 John 4:20).?

If it has to be really short, you could use a part of Acts 2:41

"Then they that gladly received his word were baptized..."

18 almost 19. I was thinking of something like "Then they were shown the way" or "Path to Righteousness" something along those lines, like realizing the person is now headed in the right direction. I do like what has been offered, but shorter the better.

Matthew chapter 10

32"Whoever acknowledges me before men, I will also acknowledge him before my Father in heaven. 33But whoever disowns me before men, I will disown him before my Father in heaven.

34"Do not suppose that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I did not come to bring peace, but a sword. 35For I have come to turn
" 'a man against his father,
a daughter against her mother,
a daughter-in-law against her motherinlaw?
36a man's enemies will be the members of his own household.'[e]

37"Anyone who loves his father or mother more than me is not worthy of me; anyone who loves his son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me; 38and anyone who does not take his cross and follow me is not worthy of me.

Deuteronomy 25:11-12
11 If two men are fighting and the wife of one of them comes to rescue her husband from his assailant, and she reaches out and seizes him by his private parts, 12 you shall cut off her hand. Show her no pity.

j/k

Serious question, are they catholic? I've never heard of a baptism anniversery before.

Luke 3:15-16
15The people were waiting expectantly and were all wondering in their hearts if John might possibly be the Christ. 16John answered them all, "I baptize you with water. But one more powerful than I will come, the thongs of whose sandals I am not worthy to untie. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and with fire.

Mark 1: 9-11
9At that time Jesus came from Nazareth in Galilee and was baptized by John in the Jordan. 10As Jesus was coming up out of the water, he saw heaven being torn open and the Spirit descending on him like a dove. 11And a voice came from heaven: "You are my Son, whom I love; with you I am well pleased."
