Are you speaking of the robe and crown of thorns that he was made to wear just prior to the crucification? This was done by his tormentors to mock him. He did not wear this clothing throuout his life.

Perhaps you should open your eyes.

They cast lots for HIS clothes. What was so special about HIS clothes? Answer me that. If you dont know, its ok, I will tell you. I'd rather have you find the answer for yourself though.

They cast lots for the fine robe that Harod gave to him just prior to the crucification. Yes it was fit for a king. It was a gesture to mock the "King of the Jews". Jesus did not wear this robe throughout his life and teachings. So what is you point?

Edited for spelling correction.

I'm a pastor of a Baptist Church, don't make much money, but enough to support my family along with my wife, a full-time nurse and mom. To you who say preachers, ministers shouldn't get paid, there is a Biblical basis for it, search the Scriptures. That being said, I have a great deal of respect for bi-vocational ministers, who preach for free while working a secular job (like Paul the Apostle).

As for tax cuts for the clergy, churchers. I think that tax exemption concerning church property is enoguh. And I for one realize that this is a privelege, not an inherent right built into the constitution. Any church that violates its agreement by endorsing specific candidates should lose their tax exemption status. Which is why I never preach politics from the Pulpit. Scripture is way, way, way more significant than such trivial things. However, when a passage in Scripture addresses the sanctity of life for example, I will certainly comment on abortion, though never endorse a candidate or political party. Tell Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, and a large percentage of black baptist churches to do the same and I'd be happy (not to endorse candidates). However, when the IRS comes knocking, they always play the race card.

There's also a "biblical basis" for stoning those that wear different fabrics, lie down with unclean women .......

Keep Googling! You are getting closer. LOL!

it was a seemless robe that was His own. Prove otherwise with Scripture reference and we can continue.

I personally support the concept of taxing churchs for every dime they bring in, just with any other business. "Preachers" regardless of denomination should get NO tax breaks that the general popluation doesn't get. Donations to churches should NOT be tax deductible. That in essence means government support of churches, and should be illegal.
