How hard is it do be a reseller. Right now I maintain 4 sites plus a personal site for me mines at dixiesys, 2 are at addaction, ones at 8-95, and the last I haven't decided, (just about to start that project)
Thanks
minendo nailed it, being server admin is not easy (speaking from personal experience).
At least
minendo is taking the time to learn Linux, where as I'm a lazy ass but that's another issue of mine
Being a reseller is VERY easy. I would recommend getting a small resellers account which starts at $10/mo.
You create all the packages you want, you specify the resources for each domain, if they get CGI access or not, etc.
Thanks was looking at the clook package might have to jump into it. How do you do the bililng?
With a resellers package you don't have to resell (just ask
Nocturnal I think he uses his dathorn to host his and a friends web site).
I thought you were just going to host your own sites?
clook.net bills you for the resellers account, you handle the billing and support to your clients.
In the beginning you can do it all for free:
1)
PHPCoin is a FREE script which handles sign ups and client management.
2) Use Paypal to accept payments, cash, checks, etc.
3) There are free tech support ticket systems.
Reselling to yourself or paying clients is VERY easy.
You can consolidate all your web hosting accounts into one, sell a few small packages to people for $5/mo and get your resellers account for FREE.
