Reliable TV brand

Most are pretty good. But, I'd stay away from Sony. I think my distaste for them is well-known. 😉

What's your budget? What features do you want?

I agree, my 11 yr old 27" Panasonic is still running good 🙂

My budget is around $700-$2000 depending on my mood 😉 Still trying to justify spending 2G's just to waste my brain 😉

Reliability is top priority.

If you are looking for a large Projection TV then Hitachi has the best reliability according to Consumer Report. Check out the AVS Forum . All you questions will be answer.

BTW this is the TV Hitachi 51S500 I just brought.

Going from personal experience and experience from family:

Sony, Panasonic, Zenith, Magnavox (In that order)

Sony makes very awesome products, we own two 27 inch Tvs from them.

you have that reversed!

Sony is teh sux0r! And overpriced, too.

My 32" sony's been running for like 7 year solid and it's still going.

My older TV which is like 11 year old Trinitron Sony is still going strong too.

Well if we are comparing years, then my parent's Zenith has been going strong for 25+ years.

And my RCA 19" set is going on year 16.

For what you pay for a Sony (esp. that bloated WEGA), you can get bigger and better in another brand.

the only tv ive ever seen fail is my aunts 5 yr old Sony 32"... we bought the same one at the same time but ours is still running

in my personal experience mitsu makes beautiful tvs

Mitsubishi in my mind is really high up there in terms of television, cars are completely different though. Go with HDTV IMO.

I just bought a 65" mitsubishi HDTV recently. I love it. No problems as of yet. This is my first mitsubishi so I hope it holds up good.

As far as long term, I go through TV's pretty quickly. Did have a old sony that lasted quite awhile, but had to have a few repairs along the way.
