Rejoin SETI Classic or Start anew w/BOINC?

Hiya! I just recently purchased a cheapo Dell Prescott P4 system and would like to donate my spare CPU cycles to TA but dunno which cause to support. Suggestions? Oh, and instructions on running two clients on my HT-enabled system would be helpful, as a search turned up nothing 🙁
Thanks in advance

I'd vote for seti classic but that's cause that's what I crunch 😉

As for having two clients, usually the easiest way is to use Seti Driver which manages the actual crunching application by caching work units and running multiple instances...

Whatever you choose, we appreciate your support 🙂

Thanks for the advice! I think I will rejoin S@H and switch to BOINC once S@H is canceled. As far as running two clients goes, should I literally run two instances of Seti Driver or just run two processes in one instance?
Thanks!

Welcome ReturnofFM2K3,
If you choose to run SETI "classic" then you can either run SETI from two different directories or run SETI Driver with "Max Processes" set to "2" & it'll do everything for you.

We're still trying to keep BBR behind us so join in on the fun.

SETI Driver
SETI Spy
Command-line Client Software
Smoke's awesome getting started page

If you choose to run SETI BOINC then Rattledagger is the man you want to talk to to help get you set up.

Either way, enjoy & welcome (back?)!!!

I run SETI out of two directories as i find it easier to moniter each that way. Try it one way for awhile then try it the other way & see which you like best.

Sorry, didn't explain that clearly enough... You run one instance of Seti Driver and it runs two instance of the cruncher for you as Spacehead points out. The best is to follow Smoke's instruction page, also linked by Spacehead.

Thanks guys! She's up and running, and my cache is filling as we speak 🙂 It's nice to see both virtual CPUs running @ 100% utilization 🙂
