Rejection letters from prospective employers

Now, I'm talking about second round, on-site interviews.

Do employers usually let prospective employees know whether or not they got the job? These interviews can take about 3-4 hours of your day.

I'm 99% certain that my prospective employer would email all the candidates today, but its 7:40pm already, and I haven't heard a word.

Should I just take the lack of notification as a rejection?

[edited so that i will get a job]

Most will tell you outright, if you've had contact with them, the they only contact you back if they're actually interested. Otherwise, assume they don't care about you.

Did you actually go for the 3-4 hour interview?

I actually had a company never get back to me after I drove 6 hours to get to the interview. I called and emailed but never got a response until I went higher up in the food chain. I wrote a nasty email about the department manager and sent it to the CEO. That is how I got a response that the position was filled. I knew it was filled before I wrote the letter but I played dumb. I heard from a fried who worked at the company in a different department.

Yeah, but, see, 'perspective' is spelled right, it's just the wrong word. Spell check just wouldn't help here :D

Edit:
'editted', however, is not spelled correctly, so we'd get caught there.

Seriously, are you just a horrible speller?
That's really unimpressive on things like resumes.

prospective, not perspective

you never know, one small spelling/grammatical error could cost you these days...

yeah, i went for a long interview. thanks for the response. it sounds like i'm going to go through the same thing. it's just that the employer knew that I had rearranged my whole schedule to get there and i thought that i would at least get a rejection letter.

I have also gotten rejection letters through the mail even though all of my correspondence until that point was done through email.

I would wait till next week before you rush to judgements. Sometimes people get behind in their work and it was a friday, maybe they left early and pushed it back till monday.

I think he was just suggesting that the word you wanted was 'prospective', but that really shouldn't have affected your interview.

Good luck!!
