if i boot from the windows cd, itll ask me if i want to reinstall, right?
also, does reinstalling windows damage any of my data?

no, ive never had to reinstall before- its my first windows computer.
 
1. Do you want to reinstall Windows?
2. Which edition?
3. If you do reinstall, none of data should be damaged, unless you have older software that may not be supported by your version.
