Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.

Windows 200 Server, acting as a print server.
Added a new printer, an HP LaserJet 5P, with no problems.
Added cross-platform drivers for Win95/98 platform.

Receiving an error when installing the printer on Win98 client machines.
Cannot find where or how to reinstall the Win95/98 driver.

Under "Additional Drivers" (on the "Sharing" tab of the printer's properties) the checkboxes for all the installed drivers are grayed out.
No other function I can find or see to remove/reload/reinstall the cross-platform driver.

Appreciate any help anyone can offer for this.

have you attempted uninstalling the printer on the server and reinstalling it? It sounds like a bad driver installation.

Tried uninstalling the printer, which unfortunately does not automatically remove any driver installed for it (cross platform or not)

I had the same prob. I think it has to do with unsigned drivers that Win2K prevents them from loading.
I just added the drivers local on all the Win98 clients and repointed the path. e.g., load the driver local to LPT1. Then change the port to \\server\HPLJ5 ( whatever your path and sharename are )

Thanks! That's how I eventually got the printer installed yesterday, but was really hoping to utilize automatic installation.

If it's just a matter of unsigned drivers preventing an install, then just change the policy to warn instead of deny unsigned.
