When the 280 or the PSU comes in, tell me if they fix the problem, I'm interested as to what went wrong and why in your case.

PSU didn't fix the problem and the 280 GTX deal fell through, so I opted to purchase an MSI 260 GTX from Newegg for $240.99 and a $40 mail in rebate.

I'm actually kind of hoping that the new 260 GTX doesn't work on my computer, cause if it doesn't, then it's time for a new mobo and that means my GFX card is perfectly fine.

Whelp, just installed my brand new MSI 260 GTX into my computer...and got nothing...so does this mean it's the motherboard that's the problem? I got the same no signal coming from my monitor, so that means it IS a problem with the motherboard right?

Edit: And I'm actually kind of happy that it didn't work, since that means the 8800 GT is perfectly fine.

Either the motherboard decided to crap out on you, or some static screwed with the cpu/ram. Not having a system to test any of this in is proving to be quite a problem  Not really sure where to go from here, could be the mobo, or the ram, or the cpu (unlikely the cpu, but still).

Does your 8800 GT's fans spin up when it's connected? If so, might be the cards again :p

Oh and make sure all the power connections are secure on the 260.

Yep, the 8800 GT fans did work. But since I'm getting exactly the same error with this card, it should be a problem with the mobo.

What I'm saying is, assuming your cards are getting enough juice, why would the 260's fans not spin on start-up while the 8800 GT would? And if there's no beep, it means the motherboard doesn't recognize the 260 in there.

Actually there is a beep the moment I turn on the system. What I just did was go to a little brick and mortar mom and pop shop and for $20 they'll test both graphics cards. If both are dead, then the vein in my neck from all this hassle will explode...

Ah the mom and pop shops, wish there was one in my area so maybe I could get a job :p In any case good luck having both cards come back as good, or at least the 8800 GT since a DOA card isn't as bad as a suddenly dead one.

Whoo! Both cards got through post at the mom and pop shop! Both are certified working! What I'm going to do now is one more test and if it's conclusive, then that means that the problem is unquestionably the motherboard. What I'm going to do is plug my monitor into a different computer to see if it will display on the computer, and if it does, then that means that everything is working perfectly except for the Mobo.

Edit: Monitor worked flawlessly on other computer! Motherboard is now primary suspect!

Edit 2: Do you have any advice on how much I could sell my 8800 gt? Also, what kind of Mobo would you recommend that's LGA775.

How are we sure it's not the ram again? In any case, get the Asus P5Q SE Plus from the Egg, around $90.

You know, I think I know what might have happened to my mobo to cause it to be this way. I think I plugged in one of the power connectors from my PSU into the mobo where a power connector shouldn't have been plugged in. I think it was a power connector into what was supposed to go to a fan...I think that may have been what caused it.

How good is that motherboard? Is it a capable CPU overclocker?

Yes it is a very capable OCer, loads of people use the P5Q series, the differences between the boards are mainly features.

Man, you've been nothing but helpful this entire time. I really thank you for your help! That mobo sounds pretty good.
