Reinstall Win xp

I have an 8 year old pc running win xp. It is so slow that I just replaced it with a new one. The pc has 3 drives installed in it and I want to use the old pc for backup and storage and when the grandkids visit they can play in it till it dies!! LOL
I want to reinstall win xp using the existing cd that I used to install it. Right now xp has all the updates, etc.
What do I have to do to reinstall win xp???

Set the BIOS to boot from the CD drive, put the XP install disk in, reboot and complete the installation. Reset the BIOS back to boot from the hard disk. Be happy.

I forgot to add before that the o/s is a oem version. Will I have to register it again or pay a fee to activate the license?

HI
I replaced the hard drive 4 years ago and bought a new oem disk to do it. Now there are 4 years of old files, etc on the drive.
Still the original motherboard and ram.
It would probably be best to do a format on the drive and a clean install.
Can I do the clean install??
Thanks for the help and patience!

Might have to call Microsoft and get an activation code after you reinstall. Just tell them you had to reinstall XP on the same machine, shouldnt be a problem.

HI
Sorry I am late getting back here to reply. Had some family health issues and grandkids had colds, etc and needed some baby sitters while parents went to work!

Thanks for the replies. There are several great options and I will start with the CC Cleaner and work up from there. The pc is already maxed out on ram and over clocked as much as possible.
My goal is to clean out junk and make it stable for storage and for the grandkids to beat on when they are here! LOL
Thanks
