Im recieving my new harddrive in a few days, this drive will become the boot drive, and I will ghost the previous drive (two partitons fat32(winme) and ntfs (2000) till the new drive. I really don't want to reinstall win2000, but I would like to install winme all over again. But since winme is at the c: drive I can't format it, because I will loose the boot files that I would need for win2000 as well. So if I remove all directories in the fat32 partition and then reinstall winme, would the dual boot still work?

Will work if winme doesn't overwrite the C: boot sector. If it does, can be fixed by running fixboot in w2k recovery console.

That's what I want to know, if winme overvrites the boot sector?
And how do I use the w2k recovery console? is it on the boot disks?

heres an easy way out of it do this
before you reinstall Win Me

copy these files from your c drive
boot.ini ntldr and ntdetect.com on to a floppy

reinstall your win me

then copy those three files back to your c drive
