Reinstall fixed it. Don't know what went wrong the first time.

It started off after installing and trying to patch the game. I got an error that the game version could not be determined. I fixed it by added registry entires as per instructions from their support site. I patched up to version 1.3 and setup my controls and graphics, then the fun begins. I get about 30 seconds into the game and the graphics corrupt to look like a rock has hit the screen or it will go black and I continue to hear the game sounds and have to turn the pc off or hit reset. Then when I try to unistall the game, it will not unistall. Please help as I really want to try this game again.
