Reid - be bipartisan, drop your extremism while we keep ours

If you do not mean this thread, why did you sully this thread with the post?

Because it's an ironic example of "do as I say, not as I do". You criticize Reid for not curbing his extremism or any extremism on his "side", yet you've never criticized your "side" for being no better.

Republicans and Republican supporters criticize Democrats and Democratic supporters, Democrats and Democratic supporters criticize Republicans and Republican supporters. It's all very inane to those of us who are neither party members nor party supporters.

Criticism from within the party is more useful and more likely to bring about desired change than criticism from the opposing party.

I am not the one who went into the national press to say the repubs need to change while saying nothing about the dems needing to change.

I know you want to defend the dems on this one, as you are going to ludicrous ends to do such, but please at least start at the FIRST post and learn what the thread is about before being so foolish.

If you want a thread about the topic you are trying to force this one to become, make it. If not, then talk about THIS particular topic. Your insistence on trying to make this thread into your own personal one is lame.

I challenge you to point out where he 'defended the dems.'

Easy, he is attempting to shift the conversation away from the dems and to the reps. It is a common defense tactic, used to move the spotlight away and onto someone/something else.

Come on, even you know that much.

Do you think the dems should shed their extremism?

Of course. You'd never say, anywhere, that the Republicans need to change.

leave Tea Party "extremism" behind and "learn what legislation is all about."

I counter Reid's proposal and invite him to leave the Democrat Party extremism behind and learn what legislation is all about, you know, giving me everything I want. He can come back with a compromise and give me half of it this year, the remaining half next year.

My proposal is the flip side of his own, where he thinks Congress exists to serve him.

I actually believe Reid and the Democrats are just as guilty of being hyper-partisan as the Republicans are. Unlike you, though, I actually say both sides are partisan-to-a-fault.. rather than only one side or another.

The Republicans need to change, they can start by kicking out the big government Neocons starting with Bush, McCain, Romney, and company. The more likely they are to help the Democrats, the more need we have of changing them out.

Thank you.. for expressing a conservative point of view instead of a Republican one.

I do know that he doesn't 'defend dems.' What does that say about your assumption?

He did in this thread by purposefully attempting to remove the spotlight from the dems' hypocrisy and instead focus on republicans.

Care to actually answer the question I posed to you? Repeated here for easy of answering:

Do you think the dems should shed their extremism?

You made a pretty lame assumption there...but that is not to be unexpected from you, I am finding out. When people do not do as you demand, you make bad assumptions.

I'm saddened by the fact that there's a difference between the two. Perhaps some day conservatives will stop listening to their leaders and read their actions.

To answer the question, it depends on the issue. You see, I like to evaluate each issue on a case by case basis before I make a decision.

You have yet to post a single issue raised by the Dems during the current Congress that I consider extreme. Until you do, you have no case for calling the Democrats hypocrites.

Show me a thread you've created that's critical of Republicans. Until you do, it is not a bad assumption at all.

Show me a thread you created where you are say you do not think elephants live on Mars. Until you do, it is not a bad assumption to say you think elephants do live on Mars.

You are acting like an absolute clown here...but that is not to be unexpected from you, as we all already know. When people call you out on poor argument style, you make worse arguments.

So you think extremism is fine when YOU PERSONALLY agree with it. Fair enough, at least it explains why you think the dems do not need to get rid of their extremism.
