In all honesty, I didn't care for Faye's yellow outfit at all. Made her look like a common whore, and she wore it all the time. Rei does not destroy the world per Shinji's wishes y'know. If they were all reduced down to LCL they wouldn't have the ending sequence with Asuka/Shinji. It can be deduced/up to interpretation that Shinji wanted the human race to go on as is hence he didn't kill Asuka when he had the chance.
