Regulate my sleeping

I think i've decided that the use of OTC drugs are the most effective way to regulate my sleeping. I really don't think that I have the will power to do it on my own. I've tried, its just no good. So, I was thinking of something like meletonin at night and nodoze or some sort of caffiene in the morning. I don't plan on doing this for long, just until my body is under normal sleeping hours. Is this a really really bad idea?

Drugs will do nothing more than make you dependant upon them. If you use them to fall asleep for periods longer than a week or two, you will find it very, very difficult to fall asleep without them.

Easiest way to regulate your sleep schedule - get up "early", be active throughout the day, go to bed "early". Try to get up and go to bed within half an hour of those times each day.

Consistency is what gets you into a sleeping habit.

I worked third shifts - 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM three days a week, and a 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM shift the other 4 days of the week for 3 years. After quitting that schedule 6 months ago, I'm back on a "normal" sleep schedule.

You just have to put some effort into it - your health is worth it.

They're right, drugs, even the OTC kind, are not the way you want to go. If your sleeping really concerns you, see a doc! For all you know, you might have cronic fatigue syndrome or some other type of problem. Barring that, get into a routine and stick with it. It might take some time, but it will be well worth it healthwise.

StrangeRanger...

Sleep Apnea could be a possible explanation. I don't think it usually wakes you up enough to remember it, though...

StrangeRanger - go see a doctor. You may very likely have a case of sleep apnea. It can sometimes be dangerous to your health.

I would check into it.
