Regular definition old tv series going the way of black and white?

I still remember truly excellent shows like Hill Street Blues and St. Elsewhere, yet you can barely find them in reruns anymore.

For years you could find I Love Lucy in black and white reruns. Nowadays not much.

I think the same thing is happening to standard def. shows.

It's a shame.

Heh, that is the only station I watch anymore (don't miss cable one bit).

Yeah I cut off my satellite. I thought I would miss it at first, but after a bit of watching OTA channels I realized that I really wasn't missing anything. I went over a friends house that has all the cable channels and flipping through it, it was still the same crap that was on there months ago in different time slots. waste of money for me.
 
I'm still wondering how much longer it will be until dish/cable providers stop charging us extra for HD.
 
It has nothing to do with standard definition and everything to do with how appealing they are as syndicated shows. There are a lot of standard definition shows still in syndication.
