Registry Error's!?!?!?!?!!?

I wiped out a drive and installed WIN 98se. I keep getting registy errors while setting up the system. I am not sure what can be causing this problem. I once again wiped it out, and same problem. They happen at different time, Once installed sound drivers, and once when half way finished installing Office 2k. I belive i have a bad peice of hardware but what could it be? Any help would be appreicated.

sounds like heat problems with your CPU... are you overclocking???? try underclocking your CPU and see if that helps...
