Registry editing disabled

I keep getting an error stating that Registry editing has been disabled by administrator. I didn't change anything. Why am I getting this error and how do I fix it?
 
When, where and how are you getting this message? Is the account you are running not the administrator?
 
Run anti-virus and ad/spyware scans ASAP. There are more than a couple viruses and trojans that will disable registry editing tools.
