Hey folks, I'm new to this high performance pc stuff, so a little help would be greatly appreciated. I just bought a 1.4 Tbird, and am thinking about the Abit KG7 mobo, but it requires registered ddr to fill all four slots. I only have 2 256 ddrs noww, but would like to expand later. Does anyone have a link or something where I can learn more about this stuff, like latency and cas

I have a KG7-RAID with 3x256MB PC2100 DDR RAM. You can use two sticks of unbuffered RAM but you're right to fill all 4 you will need registered RAM.
I got mine from Crucial for a decent price. The CAS rating for them is 2.5 but I STRONGLY reccomend that you not even fiddle with it!! I'm serious. I changed it to CAS2 and my
system began to have frequent crashes and memory problems after that. Resetting the settings didnt even fix it. If I didn't answer your question entirely just post what you want to know as I don't
have any links.
