I need to get a registered agent for a LLC but the local ones seem extremely dodgy (not even a website to their name) while I can find almost no reviews for any of the national services. Has anyone dealt with the ones that have offices in most/all states and been happy?

Have you checked with local law firms that practice corporate law?

I have not started calling around yet. All I need is someplace that is cheap and that works since the chance of me ever needing anything at all from them is incredibly slim. The impression I was given was that the local attorneys ARE better but much more expensive.

I personally was my own R.A. Its not that hard to check ur mail often.
IMO only reason to outsource is in cases of multiple partner LLC's.

Save some $$$, reinvest... profit! Good luck!

Most states require that you have someone available to be served during normal business hours. So if you run a small business full time out of a home it is easy, but not so much if you have a normal 9-5.
