Register for .edu? Found answer. Now, .net or .com?

Anybody know what's required to register for .edu domain? I know it's for educational institute mostly, but I want to do one for my alumni association. Does that qualify? And where can I go to register?

That would probably be a .org

I found some info and you are right.

Unfortunately, the .org I wanted is already taken. So, what do you think - .net or .com?
