Region lock for DVD ROM

Bought a new laptop with a combo drive and when I put in a DVD i got a notice saying that I could change the region code a maximum of 5 times. My library gets DVDs from all over and I need to have a multi region player. I have a multiregion player for my home theatre but how do I manage on my laptop?
