Will you get one issued if you're making a left turn, drive up to the middle to wait for an opening, light turns red, you turn?

Technically, the light was green when you drove to the middle, but turned red. Will the camera still cap, then send you a ticket?

as long as youre in the intersection, you shouldnt get a ticket.. at least thats how the red lights cameras work around here.

That's called claiming the intersection, and it is a violation of the traffic laws.

That's called getting home from work within 3 hours of leaving and the law can kiss my hairly yellow butt.

If you don't go, you'll be a traffic hazard... just go. I can't believe they'd ticket you for that...

That's called there are certain intersections where if you DON'T creep into them you'll never be able to turn left.

Tell me about it. There's a light that I run every day down at school. I'm not the only one either. It is a left turn across the lanes of one of the busiest streets you can find in Birmingham. I've ran it with cops behind/in front of me before, because EVERYONE does it. There is ZERO way to make a left there without running the light. If you are lucky you MIGHT get through on the yellow, but typically about 5-6 cars gets to go each cycle, more or less depending if traffic is blocking the intersection. Why hasn't there been a turn arrow installed yet? Who knows.

75% of the streets in most busy areas (at least in SF, Oakland, and LA) require you to creep in and run red lights while turning.

i believe california law allows one car max to be in the intersection on a unprotected turn on a red. any more than that, it's illegal.

I do it all the time, especially when driving in NYC... I've never seen anyone get ticketed for it, though. you're far more likely to get ticketed if you end up stuck in the intersection and are blocking other cars
