PLEASE read this thread HERE before posting stupid comments in my thread. Just wanted to bring this out in a title for those who may not have read the thread and saw what APEX posted.

I saved the original seagate rebate form 2 days ago and come to find out, the form was doctored not to include dell. And now Dell has removed the HD from their site. For those that got an order and email confirmation, I hope that this rebate works.

The rebate form that theycallmeaububba posted is the one that was "originally" posted @ tigerdirect. Less than an hour after this deal hit all of the boards the rebate form did in fact change. I have an order with Dell for this drive and it's in production according to the csr I spoke with today.

I do think that Seagate "WILL" honor the rebate requests that submit the one posted above. However YMMV. 🙂

How is it not? Most people think that dell is not an honored retailer b/c they never saw the original rebate form. The new rebate form is different and doesn't include dell. I don't want anyone to miss out.

Next time, check up on what is going on before you post in my threads.

Seagate decided to change the terms of the rebate to exclude Dell after they
were flooded with calls from people who purchased the drive from Dell.
Whether they will honor the rebate submissions from the people who bought
the drive from Dell is still a mystery.

The rebate form was covered very well in other posts. I agree with the other people when they say "Where's the Hot deal".
 
uh... i have the original rebate saved from the tigerdirect site myself.... so what am i missing out? and this is definetly NOT a hot deal according to your topic. Maybe change your topic to "Attention: dell blah blah blah" l4m3r
 
Drat, I bought one last week. I was happy with $103 shipped and now this -really harshed my Hot Deal mellow 😛

Another one would come in handy though...
 
Since the original rebate form does not specify where you have to buy the bare drive from, could the rebate be used at Newegg?
 
I would try it, or maybe even call in.

I just called in, 11:30C, and they said that they are working out the details today and to call again this afternoon.
