regarding how to caculate your new hourly paid

KORTIZ1

can first all i was told i got a pay increase however we wasnt told how much in terms of cents we got cause my job only give extra cents.
so i want to know how much i will be getting hourly and if possible how much more in cents did my hourly increase.

heres the following information

My new salary is $31413.24
i make right now 14.71 an hour
and i get paid every 2 weeks for total of 64 hours

please understand i dont work 40 hours a week i work all year and only work 32.50 every week for total of 64 hours every 2 week.

can someone tell me what is my new hourly paid and how much cents in my hourly paid i got with the information provided.

my quick calculation:

assuming:
64 hours per 2 weeks
52 weeks a year
$31413.24 new salary

we get:
64 * 26 = 1664 hours a year
$31413.24/1664 hours = $18.88 per hour

Umm, what?

52 weeks in a year, you get paid every 2 weeks, meaning 26 work periods in which you work 64? That means 32 per week, not 32.5. Did you mean a total of 65 hours every 2 weeks?

If you meant 65 hours every paycheck of 2 weeks:
31413.24
---------- = 18.59/hr
(65 * 26 )

If you meant 64 hours every paycheck of 2 weeks:
31413.24
---------- = 18.88/hr
(65 * 26 )

Previously you made 24,447 / year (64*26*14.71)

If you now make $31413.24, you're getting 18.87/hr.

An increase of $4.16

To begin with...your math doesn't add up...

32.50 x 2 = 65, not 64.

If you work 32.50 hours per week...x 52 weeks, that's 1690 hours per year. $31413.24/1690 = $18.59 per hour.

If you actually work 32 hours/week...since you say 64 hours/2 weeks, then that's 1664 hours/year, and your hourly pay would work out to $18.88.

HOWEVER, if the company calculates the salary on working 40 hours/week, (2080 hrs/year) then your hourly pay is $15.10

32.50 x 2 = 65 hours each pay period, not 64.

Assuming no vacation bonus or anything, straight up right now you would be making:

65 hours per pay period * 26 pay periods per year * $14.71 per hour = $24859.90

Your new salary thus corresponds to an hourly rate of:

$31413.24 / 26 pay periods per year / 65 hours per pay period = $18.59/hr

Nobody has insulted the OP about his poor math skills, nor that he has no idea what he makes??!!! (sorry OP this is ATOT after all.)

That's like a 22% raise, congrats. Not bad in this economy. But looking at your post count/join date, I'm waiting for you to come back here and tell us how we too can enjoy such an income working from home...and get a free iPod in the process.

Iam confuse cause when i do it it says iam getting 18 cents more raise my company doesnt give dollar raises so i dont know if you guts doing it right

everyone got no more then 30 cent raise people here always do
i was told to divide my new salary 31413.24 by 52 and then divide that by hours work 64 every 2 weeks and it said 18 cents so i dont know iam confuse

Why don't you just compare an old paycheck to a new one and see how much more you make? That's all that really matters anyways

Let's see, you're creating a new account on an internet message board to ask those people how to do basic math for you so you know how much of a raise you got? However much it is, you're probably overpaid.

I noticed that it was his first post...at least he didn't post a link to some site or another.

He definitely needs classes in remedial math and English. 😛

(although he definitely does better with English than I'd do with whatever his first language might be)

I saw the OP ask this on another site (twice!) and am surprised that someone would register here just to post this question.

31413.42/52 = 604.10 <-- this number is how much you are now making every single week (1 WEEK)

To figure out how much you make HOURLY, you divide that by how much you work in ONE WEEK (not two, but ONE WEEK).

604.10/32 = $18.87 per hour

Given all the information you gave us, this is 100% confirmed by several people here to be correct. You either are telling us something wrong or didn't know what your hourly wage was before hand.

I would definitely be depressed if I made less than you like apparently some of you guys claim. I think yall need to find a new job. 😛

Thread is started by a guy who registered today and has 2 posts and this is one of them. What are the odds he created a new account just for trolling?
