do i need a 300 watt case inorder to boot up a 1.3 gig amd athelon ? or can i use a 250 watt power supply ? as i know a friend of mine got a new mother board and a amd cpu 1.3 gig and he told me he couldnt get it to boot .. is it the power supply problem or something else ? can you actually boot up from a 250 power supply ? all replys are appreciated thanx

Could you boot up a 1.33GHz Athlon with a 250W psu? Probably, especially with a good quality power supply. However a poor quality PSu could well struggle with the power drain caused by the Athlon.

However i certainly wouldn't recommend a PSu below 300W for a system built around this CPU- 340W+ is what i would recommend
