Regarding 3850 AGP

spdfreak, someone replied to your (presumably) query at hardforum saying they have success with an Antec 350W rated 16A max. :Q 😀

Maaybee it will shorten the lifespan drawing near max but then again that's only during intensive 3D and in any case it beats the hassle of replacing until actually necessary. The only caveat is that shoddy units tend to commit murder suicide rather than simply trip an internal breaker when they've had enough (no mas!). I have faith in my good ol' FSP to do the latter. 😉

Yep, I saw the reply over at HardForum. I'd really like to hear from a few other people who are using old systems and see what the general consensus is. It sure would be great to just drop one of these in ad be able to play COD4... Newegg does have a good return policy, so I might just take a shot at it.

awesome, didnt realize the 3850 was coming in agp form, i assumed my x1950 pro would be the best card i would ever be able to get for my opty 185

damn, tempted, but seems like a bad buy for me, only having a 3700 clawhammer.
