Regaining system restore space back

I disabled XP Pro's system restore on all drives. Will it delete all of what it had backed up or do I need to manually do it? Where is it stored?
 
And all the data saved with those points too? There's a folder where I think it's stored called System Volume Information, but I can't access it for some reason.
 
I just run the Disk Cleanup wizard for C:\ drive. Under more options, you can have it delete old System Restore points.
