Reg Hotdeals...No offense meant!!!

Ok firstly i mean no offense to the guys who take the pain to post hot deals in the hotdeals forum, most of the hot deals are very good.....however i sometimes find it highly annoying when a few guys use the following key words

1. Pricematch
2. Amex Blue
3. Coupons
4. Rebate
5 Return and Buy Again

and make a mess of a post saying lowest price on pricewatch is 100 dollars now you get this for 50 dollars hot hot deal..yes the above keywords might work individually like say buying something and saving using pricematch , or coupons or rebate or amex blue or a combination of two things. once in a while these posts come up where they mention everydamn way to lower the price , where the success of every step going through is left to speculation.for you to save some dollars they write a big guide which is filled with many ifs and buts. i get a headache when i decipher those posts. well you guys might say just ignore them if they are no use to you...well all im saying is " whats the point" in those meaningless posts.

I had a similar question in Forum Issues reguarding New Egg refurbs being posted. Seems the general mindset is that it is a hot deal if more than one person can take advantage of it. So, you will probably get flamed from multiple people saying "if you don't like it, don't do it". Honestly, if they want to jump through the hoops, let 'em.

Edit: Ambiguous Sentence Structure

People want the best deal they can get. There are plenty of people that don't mind calling CSR's numerous times trying to get a pricematch or dispute something. There ar plenty of other people that don't mind rebates and will buy $200 worth of extra stuff if that means getting $200 worth of crap for free plus a little bit off what they initially wanted.

I'll agree, there are quite a few deals I'd like to get in until I see the work it requires. Basically, it comes down to wether or not you want to work for the deal. Sometimes, I'll do rebates and so forth looking for a good deal, other times I'll close down a thread b/c it involves PMing here and using AMXBlue here and so forth. Many deals take time to go here and pricematch there. You have to ask yourself if it's worth it then. To me, sometimes it is, sometimes it isn't. But, I have a friend that seems to get rebates back in the mail everyday. He buys tons of crap with rebate opportunities and finished up with about 99% of the rebates. I'm good, but I've missed one or two by being lazy.

But, I don't have a problem with them in hotdeals...I think it's interesting to see what people do to save a few dollars...and sometimes I'll ride their coattails and get me a good deal.

As was mentioned before with Hot Deals... someone had an idea to spilt it up between tech deals and other misc stuff. I would take it a step further and divide it up with straightforward deals and rebates. I usually don't bite on rebates and I don't have an AMEX Blue card.

It seems like EVERY FRIGGIN' DEAL REQUIRES AND AMEX BLUE CARD! 😛 I tried to get one, but it wouldn't let me. I'm still in college and believe it or not, I was honest on my application.

<So, you will probably get flamed from multiple people saying "if you don't like it, don't do it". >

i do expect that to happen, anyways i do take advantage of deals where there might be a pricematch involed or a rebate or a rebate plus coupon or something like that...but deals which simultaneously include pricematch, Amex Blue, Coupons, Rebate,Return and Buy Again, numerous csr calls and besides all of this most of the steps involved maybe futile....and in those hotdeal threads very rarely do you see someone get the benefit of the deal..most of the time it is "damn" or "CSR is a b!tch"...or " they dont accept " etc...these threads just go on and on.
