Hey I was looking into the refub cards at newegg and they seem like a sweet deal ($250 for a 6800nu) but it doesnt include a software bundle or manuel. My question is, how would i go about installing it without an included driver CD? do I download the drivers before i install the card, would my computer still boot if the card doesnt have the drivers or will WinXP automaticaly detect it and i can just install the drivers once i boot? Or is buying a refurb card just a waste?

Yes.

I can't comment on how good the price is as i don't know the US video card market is, but it seems pretty good.

I personally would stay away from refurbs though, as the warranty is usually only 90 days.

i wouldnt buy one. thats my opinion. you can get a brand new 6800nu for about 270, and that is only lik 20 bucks more with no worries.

The warranty is less for newegg, 30 days I think. Much better to buy a NEW, RETAIL 6800 for 20-30 bucks more. You get a new card, documentation, adapters (if they are packaged) software and a real manufacturer warranty.

Personally I like the Evga found on newegg, it's got a good looking cooling system on it and it's bundled with Farcry

Brand new BFG 6800 OC for $249, plus shipping. Lifetime warranty. Don't get that refurb.

Not worth it for just $20 in savings, especially if you're concerned with warranty and bundle. If it were $100 less that'd be a different story.
