This is my first build I originally had 1GB(2X512) of Geil value ram PC3200 duel channel after a week I ordered the same ram refurbished 1GB(2X512) I found up on installing, if I paired them up I would immediately have problems such as games freezing after 30secs in game and over all buggy behavior. So I decided to test just the refurbished. It seems that if I have the refurbished RAM together in any form I will have problems. If I simply remove 1 of the refurbished 512 sticks my system runs fine. Thus I am running 1.5GB?s with only 1 512 stick of refurbished ram which one it doesn?t seem to matter they both run fine as long as there alone.

Ideas? I originally had though I had a dead slot in my motherboard but after running the refurbished ram alone and still having problems I have a feeling it?s the ram.

Side info (they are the same Model ram)
Ram I bought new code is: PN0446-SN5007419 (on bottom of the sticker with the bar code)

Ram I bought refurbished: PN1035-SN5012280

I think you need to either burn it to floppy, or they have a cd version. Then you boot from it.

Try running the refurbed ram in either the yellow or the blue slots, in other words 1 and 3 or 2 and 4. Read somewhere someone was having problems running in dual channel until they did that. Worth a try if you haven't tried it
