Not a super hot deal or anything, but a good price on a great heatsink without needing to hassle with rebates or anything like that. Thought some people on here might be interested.

Use coupon code GEEKBERT for 10% off. The economy shipping set me back $6.55, but your mileage will vary I'm sure depending on where you live.

Product page says refurbished. I bought a 212 Plus from them last week and it arrived in like-new condition with all the mounting hardware and accessories. Other than the seal on the box being broken, there wasn't anything to suggest it wasn't new. Did some searching and other buyers' experiences with these Geeks.com Hyper 212 Plus and EVO refurbs seem to be similar.

I think I might grab one. I've been shopping around for an unlocked processor.

How are the noise levels on these? I have a cheap Best Buy Rocketfish cooler that I had to grab in a pinch and it is way too loud under load for my liking.

Noise seems to be average, doesn't offer as good performance per dB as large dual stack coolers like the NH-D14 and Silver Arrow, but it's also a fraction of the cost as well, so that's the tradeoff. Here are performance and noise comparisons for the Hyper 212 Plus and EVO at FrostyTech.

For the money you really can't beat these heatsinks IMO, great bang for the buck.

I assume by "refurb" they mean it was returned, reviewed, and restocked. Maybe a screw was missing or the fan didn't work. The heatsink should be fine.

Thank you.

I will look into this a little more when I get home.

Thanks to OP, as well.

Like what happens to a cooler that it needs to be refurbished? Put a new fan on? :hmm:

I ordered one. 19.99 shipped for the evo.
Not bad, did you have a free shipping coupon? The 10% off coupon was the best I could find, but I didn't do a lot of searching, if anyone knows of a better coupon feel free to post it and I can update the OP.

You can always make it quieter by limiting the fan speed. I use a $3.00 fan resistor to keep things quiet (and it also allows me to use cheap fans).

BTW - The coupon code isn't working for me...

Got Mine today. Ordered an EVO and a 212+. Both of them look brand new. came in new looking retail packaging. Only thing I noticed is the fan grinds on one of them. I didn't plan to use the provided fans so I am not disappointed. I am using 2 scythe kaze slipstreams on the EVO and a silent rosewill on the 212+. I replaced an H60 with the EVO and am glad to report it keeps the temps just as low as the H60 with push pull did, and I don't have to listen to the annoying pump grind.
