wow, i guess posting at 8 in the morning on a sunday doesn't do well for remembering all the little details. yes, it's at newegg.
free shipping, too.
good luck!

Yeah, I saw this. It's been sitting there for a while, so maybe if noone buys it, they'll drop the price more. I'm still waiting on a good price drop like the regular 8500. This thing will do every video function under the sun and it comes with a remote. Me want.

I'd like this one as well. However, it's good to keep in mind that the 8500 DV actually doesn't do several things as well as the regular Radeon 8500. For instance, the clock speed is lower and it can't do dual monitor (although it can do 1 monitor + 1 TV). Obviously the 8500 DV has its advantages as well, but the drawbacks and the ultra low price of the 8500 are making me lean towards the regular 8500 card.

Anyone know if the only thing missing in this OEM version is the DVI-I -> VGA adaptor? Meaning, does it still include the breakout box and the RF remote?

I bought one last week for a friend of mine and it included everything. 😉

they dropped it to $199, but the one bought didn't have cables. They said that refurb items don't always come with cables and its the luck of the draw. This one has been going OOS and coming back quite frequently. I'm wondering if its those people returning the bare cards...any one else have bad experience with this one?

I bought mine back when it was 255. Came with all the things that'd you find in a retail package. Only thing that was missing was the Half-Life/CS disc.

"NO DVI to VGA Adaptor!"

Where would I get one and for how much? If I have a plain monitor I'd need the adaptor correct?

Also, what's the difference between the regular one and the bulk one?

Looks like a decent deal if it doesn't die after a month.

they have a plain oem and a "bulk" one. does anyone know what the difference is between the two? besides the $17.

I'll bet I can tell you why they have a lot of these OEM 8500DVs coming back... It took 3 tries for them to get me the correct driver CD for mine!
They shipped me 3 of the wrong CDs that were outdated and didn't have drivers for the remote. Finally, ATI introduced the Remote All in Wonder product that I was able to download the drivers for and make it work. What a PITA!
I really like the card...

ATI has been cranking out drivers like mad lately. I just have a couple of old Radeon AIW's--the new drivers help these things quite a bit--TV tuner reception much more precise, for example.

What I really want is the DV with 128 meg . . . probably be a while before THOSE come down in price, though.

i dont know if this is aganist rules but i have like 5 dvi adapters. I originally ordered 5 of these cards for $199 but it didnt come with ANYTHING but the card. Anyway, I paid $7 each, so add $3 to ship it, and its yours.

So I may give it another shot and see if I get better luck this time around. It really is russian roulette. I guess i can always return it again, but I've had quite a few RMA's already. And newegg is very good about it so I do actually feel bad about having to return things all the time. I had to return 3 ECS K7s5a's because they wouldn't run in 133/133, 1 75GXP, 1 DOA Radeon LE, 2 palanimos that the K7s5a killed, and the radeon 8500dv. Most of these are well documented issues.

But for those of you who got everything, how much did you end up paying? And I asked about the difference between the $17 more for the bulk and they didnt know. they said they probably got a deal on the regular one. I would pay the $17 if i meant i got a cable (id be shocked if it came with remote).

I bought one of the $199 refurbs. I should have it Monday or Tuesday. I hope this thing has the remote and the RF adapter... Although it's a refurb it's pretty ridiculous to ship this card without the components that make it do everything that someone would buy it for!

If it doesn't come with the remote and cables I will probably return it. Unless... Does anyone know if you could buy these things separately at a good price? I saw them on ATI's site but the total of replacing the missing components would bring me up to the cost of a new retail card.

Has anyone bought this and received the Cables or is it Generally just the Card?

Thanks All
