Probably the best 10BT 4-port hub I've ever used (used to run my home LAN on it, still run three computers off one in my cubicle at work.) Granted it's still a 10Base-T hub, so at $9.99 refurbished it's warm, not red hot.

If you have a cable/DSL router like the Linksys, D-Link, etc. you can use either a crossover cable or a regular patch cable to hook it up to a spare 10/100 port. Just make sure the "Uplink" switch is set accordingly. No further configuration should be necessary.

Don't bother unless you're counting your pennies.

Get a 10/100 *switch*.

The cost premium is worth it.

CompUSA has a SMC 5-port 10/100 switch + 10/100 NIC for $20 after rebate ($50 before rebate).
I know this is sorta a repost, but it seems to be a better value to me (assuming the rebate comes).

These are the hubs that came with the Netgear Network starter pack that was around $50 a couple years ago. My parents got one when we ended up with two computers, (at the time <--knew a little about computers) so I still have it, but now I use my Linksys Router, but it is a great hub. 4 Port completely metal, never had any problems with it.....but mine was new and from Staples :)

Hmm. It's now listed at $12.99...

I hope this isn't a trend. A few days ago, i posted a link to a great deal, in a very "public" place, and two days later, the price went up $5. I'm wondering if some vendors have a system in place, to fluctuate pricing based on consumer interest.
