nuknuk88: Timing is everything. I wasn't looking for anything particular but I make it a habit to periodically check out what's available in newegg's refurbished section. When I saw that some were available I jumped on it.
manly: Better deal? That's a judgement call. Sure, ifrom Dell I can get 20GB more space for only $15 more. On the other hand, it involves ordering from Dell. In the last 9 months I've cancelled 4 orders for parts from Dell because of misplaced orders, shipping delays, billing discrepencies, etc. And I've found the "customer service" Dell is supposed to be so famous for to be sorely lacking.
newegg, on the other hand, usually has product on my doorstep within 48 hours and they've never screwed up. I've requested RMA's from them twice. Once because a mobo was DOA and once because I ordered the wrong part. Both times newegg's customer service people took care of everything in a professional manner and cross-shipped the replacment parts. More importantly, I wasn't left feeling like I'd been dicked around like I was with Dell.
Of course, I realize others have had nothing but great experiences with Dell. However, that's my take on it.
