Refurb. Sony CLIE PEG-S300 for $200 + shipping

You can pick up a Sony CLIE PEG-S300 for $199.99+shipping (~$8 two day)direct form Sony. The product is listed at the Sony Stylewebsite. It appears you have to order via phone, though; my online order was cancelled. (888-655-8246 -- option 4, I think).

Regarding the CLIE, it is an 8mb PalmOS based PDA with 2mb of flash ROM and a memory stick port (the CLIE ships with an 8mb memory stick). The device is most similar to a Palm Vx due to its size and built-in rechargeable battery. A reasonable comparison is available online with good comparison pictures.

The next best deal (if you don't like the "refurbished" part) is to pricematch Staples to Office Depot ($299.99), use a coupon (-$40) and the $50 rebate from Sony, but then you also get to pay tax and shipping. The rebates are listed any number of places, but I know they are on Buy.com. There is also "rebate" that gets you a free case.

It's not really out of stock, the "Product no longer available for sale via Sony Style" message has something to do with the inability to order through the website. Just call Sony and order directly.

Yeah, well, that either means that the thing's a piece of junk and was returned because of it OR (more likely) someone opened the box, looked at it, and returned it, thus preventing it from being sold as "new".

Man I wanted one...they were too expensive though. Memory sticks are pricey, and the unit itself cost $100 more than a Palm. Sexy looking thing though (small too!)
