these are small drives they are the ones i'm thinking of, btw the LC is the 80 pin SCA style, the LW is the 68 pin ultrawide if ya didn't know.
story behind 15K is they use smaller platters inside so they really dont get that much hotter than say a 10K drive. I'd run a fan on 5.25" mount bay like the triple fan dealio for sure and not get them too hot. These are server grade drives. Mind the warranty and who warrants them.
oem= junk. 99% of the scsi oem's you'll find cheap with non-seagate warranties will just end being a bunch of oem drives received back, they'll low level them a few times to get all the bad blocks clear and sell them to you. SMART will likely start showing defective/imminent failure way too soon.
I've had a bunch of 15K drives with only one failure, all brand new, the one literally came apart as in heads or something spinning around inside. Best to use for a temp drive (unrar'ing,craxtion,ftp server, or raid). I wouldn't touch them with a 10 foot pole unless it came with a full seagate warranty myself.
