refurb ooma telo ip phone @ woot $145

I do voip through tmobile right now but afraid att is going to screw me, what's the story behind this?
 
I had T-mo @Home,
and went ahead an converted to Ooma, same deal a month ago.
Its around $3+change/month, unlimited mins in us.
Decent inter. rates...

Comparable if not better service.
 
I bought an older model a year and a half ago. Got grandfathered in before the taxes so haven't pay a dime since for local/long distance phone service. It replaced my Verizon land line number that I used to pay $30/mo for basic. Can't complain since it has more than paid for itself.
 
I bought this new at best buy about a year ago. Love it, they charge my CC 3.95 each month and I get unlimited local and long distance in USA. Only odd things about it is that the incoming and outgoing caller ID is kinda finiky. Sometimes people I call see my name & phone #, other times they just see my phone number. I don't use my home line all that much so this s perfect for what I need. Overall, very satisfied and my father in law bought one on my recommendation and he hasn't been disappointed either.
 
My situation is same as TXHokie. We bought this about 2 yrs ago now and so we're grandfathered in without any taxes, so I haven't paid a dime for the home phone for local and long distance service since we got it. It paid for itself in a couple months, and quality is the same as we had on Vonage way back when.... Awesome!
 
OOma has high upfront costs and high porting costs. I went VOIP, $40 for the Linsys box, $18 to port and $4.95/mo or $0.001/per minute your choice. Better deal in the long run I think, plus I have the option of trying any of dozens of VOIP services if I'm not happy with what I have, thought I use VOIP.ms and am VERY happy.

Woot is a one deal a day sale site. The deal over. Keep an eye on their site, pretty convenient since you only really have to check it once a day. I've seen this product on there several times.
 
I have OOMA and once I got the upload settings right its been rock solid and clear. Set it to 65% of upload speed. I have a 1 meg upload. Download I have it set to unlimited.

Previously we would get this weird audio drop about every 5-10 minutes you couldn't hear each other for about 10 seconds. Setting the upload to 65% of my bandwidth solved it. I also opted for the second phone line and year of upgraded service which costs $120.00 for the year but they port your phone number ($40 cost for Free)

Sound quality is better than Vonage and its been much more reliable and I have it also set so if the cable goes out and it cant reach the Ooma device it calls my wifes cell phone.

I also love how easy it is to block a caller and hae privacy the buttons on the Ooma device really come in handy unlike Vonage device which doesnt have any physical button access.
