Ebgames.com does it again! They have a refurb NES with 7 games for $59.99, use code 20PRWN to knock it down to $48.

The 7 included games are:

Zelda 2 : The Adventures Of Link
Batman
Blades of Steel
Dr. Mario
Super Mario Bros. 3
Super Mario Bros./Duck Hunt
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

TMNT pretty well sucks, but the other 6 games are decent. I've missed playing Kung Fu - still a great game.

Here's the line from my order:

SKU Qty Unit Price Total Name
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
194231 1 $3.99 $3.99 10 Yard Fight - Preowned
194395 1 $5.99 $5.99 Death Race - Preowned
194553 1 $2.99 $2.99 Jackal - Preowned
194571 1 $3.99 $3.99 Karate Champ - Preowned
194579 1 $2.99 $2.99 Kid Niki - Preowned
194593 1 $5.99 $5.99 Kung Fu - Preowned
520145 1 $59.99 $59.99 Refurbished NES Bundle with 7 Games
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Subtotal: $85.93

Total Discount: -$17.19
Shipping: $5.99
Tax: $0.00
-------------
Total: $74.73

I checked on Ebay, and compared to what NESes are going for, this is a pretty good deal. Gotta love retro gaming!

Hmm.. depends on which TMNT game they are selling. The first one that was an adventure game was hard as hell to beat, but the second one that was based off of the arcade game was fun. So was tournament fighters.

Unfortunately, the Turtles game is the first one. I think I'll let that cartridge function as a drink coaster, but the other games in this package are decent. The NES had a lot of crap games, but it also had some really awesome ones that are still hella fun to play.

It's also illegal... Not saying I don't do it, but you should know that :)

Also, were these the breach loaders or top loaders? Game Genie f*cked up the retention clip of my poor dear old NES.

*sigh*

Lemme guess, you're the type that also says, "why spend 500 dollars on a vinyl record when you can buy the CD for 14.99?"

NOSTALGIA, MAN! :D

Plus emulators aren't a sure bet. Something just feels...so wrong about not holding one of those cheapy Made-in-Taiwan Nintendo controllers vs. a cheap USB gamepad.

Definitely not the top-loaders for that price.
Those are rare and usually go for ~$100 on ebay.

Ahh, I just got back into Nintendo via emulators. I still own a copy of Zelda 2 and Final Fantasy *somewhere* so I play em on emulators now. It's like I never took a 12 year break from Nintendo. I remembered exactly how to get through Death Mountain, where all the magic spell dudes were, everything. In Final Fantasy, I knew the exact routes through all the dungeons, everything. It's amazing the kind of knowledge the brain will retain.

Actually, prices on the NES Square unit is much cheaper on eBay than the newer "NES II" system. But, this is an excellent/great deal if you're looking for an NES. NES's have that annoying blinking problem caused by dust, dirt, grime, and bad cartridges from rental stores.

Favorite NES games: Milon's Secret Castle, Super Mario II, Cobra Command, Tengen Tetris, and so much more. So many memories.

Not to crap, but that's actually pretty expensive, in my opinion. You can generally pick up an NES for $10 or so at a garage sale, and in 30 minutes with a screwdriver and a toothbrush, you can bring it back to like-new condition.

It is my pleasure to introduce you to one of the awesomest things ever. There are drivers and diagram for hooking the NES controller up through parallel.

http://www.dreamcliff.com/personal/daniel/jump/

That site seems to be down right now, but keep checkin it.

Im currently working on a NES mini-pc conversion with a EPIA mini-itx board. The coolest feature i think will be the original controller ports on the front of the NES wired to the parallel. There are some pics on the main page of my website, just look through the news and you'll find em. The URL is in my sig.

okay.. tmnt was pretty fun I thought... but.. there was no way to save, so it was ridiculously hard, and you ended up having to do parts of the begining over and over, with save state it would probably be pretty fun imo.. the 2nd one was very fun playing with friends

nothing but M.U.L.E. for me and my NES, once maybe twice a week. Any other M.U.L.E.rs out there?
