Refurb Logitech Z-680 5.1 Speakers $165.95 Shipped

Anyone know how JustDeals are with refurbs? Makes me a little iffy because they are recertified. Lower it says refurbed, but is it factory refurbed?

I bought these speakers from justdeals a few months ago for 160. I've recently run into some problems which I think stem from the control pod. In 6 channel direct mode, there seems to be a very noticable high pitched hiss. I am in the process of RMAing the pod to Logitech. However, given that I saved $240 off MSRP (and $100 off what I would have paid at the cheapest sites online), I still think this was a good deal.

If you read any forums or posts about Z-680s, you will that this is a common problem with the 5.1s. Logitech tried a few revisions to fix the problem, but it's hit or miss. Chances are that a new pod will fix the problem.

On another note, I own the 4.1 Z-560s, and my control pod died. At first, they wouldn't help me at all due to expired warrant, but a formal letter yielded a new 5.1 set (Z5300e). They have less power, but I just ordered a refurb set of the 4.1s from justdelas fot $75. I will post the conditions of them. I plan to make my money back on the control pod by selling their RMAed Z5300e's on ebay. Logitech needs to realize their mistakes and make the control units as well as the speakers instead of trying desperately to cut costs.

stay clear of refurbish logitech products... while some have had success I would say atleast 30% of people who buy recondition product will experience product malfunction... my controller pod die with my z560 and I had to request a new one... and my logitech keyboard 10key enter button don't wory... minor problem but still have probelms none the less.

I purchased these about 6 months ago, and I will say that they sound fantastic. I have them hooked via optical connection to xbox, dig. coax to dvd player and 6 way to computer. Never any hissing, only that monster bass.

the deal is still on....

i have bought 3 logitech speakers and some other stuff from justdeals.com

found out about them through ebay auctions...

i only had one problem with one of their speakers, returned it, got a replacement pretty fast..

great service, i prolly go back again for any other logitech needs.
