Title says it all:

OEM 9800 Pro - 2 left
AIW 9800 Pro - 1 left (who knows if the cables and stuff are included...)

Linkage

I grabbed 1, not all of them, I'm not a jerk. It's worth the risk for this price. If it's bad, I'll just return it.. I've generally had good luck with Newegg "refurbs".

Wow, that was a pretty damn good deal on the 9800 PRO. The AIW's I'd never get refurbed, for the reason shady06 mentions.

Tell them you'd like to buy nine hundred and ninety nine cards... It'll tell you "sorry, we can only sell you two cards!"

Got mine today. Bare card, but looks to be brand new: no smudges, scratches, anything. Probably an unused customer return. Put the card in and it works fine, no artifacts, great speed. Will go well with my dirt cheap 3.2GHz 400SC :D

Just as an FYI, remember that the success rate of Newegg refurbs is only about 50%......I have bought tons of refurb stuff and some is good and some is bad. I received a 9800 from them today, and guess what, bad.....:(

What happens if you RMA a bad refurb? Do they ship you a new 9800 as a replacement? Or do you just get your money back?

Almost always with refurb items you send it back and they refund your money. Unfortunately, you eat the cost of the return shipping........they have never sent me a replacement item on a refurb.....

at that point, I would rma back to ATI, if they are like other reliable companies (IE Hercules), you will get a brandy new retail sealed card sent back to you. Same shipping to send it back to Newegg...

I would have a serious problem if Newegg demanded I pay return shipping on a defective product they sent me. I seriously question a vendor that has been repeatedly cited for selling defective "refurbs", which gives the appearance that they simply attempt to resell their defective returns (at your expense) versus taking the hit for RMAing defective equipment back to the manufacturer.

Personally, if Newegg refused to pay for return shipping on a defective item - regardless of whether the item was purchased as new or refurbished - I would dispute the charge with my credit card issuer. After Newegg begins to take repeated "hits" from charge-back charges (which are usually more than the cost of return shipping), they will likely change their return "policy" on defective items they resold as fully functional refurbished items. Its one thing that refurbished items may be missing cables, brackets, documentation, etc. - its a far different situation when the item ships is defective/DOA.

Well, I would just say this to anyone that gets a refurbed item such as a video card from Newegg, be prepared to RMA it to the vendor or don't even bother purchasing it. My card ended up being defective and I sent it back to ATI. They ended up replacing the card with a new one and I now am a proud owner of a 9800 pro.
