Sweden's ever broadening legal definition of what constitutes as rape is probably a factor. For example, any intoxication or influence of drugs legally removes ability to consent, while in countries like America you have to be more thoroughly incapacitated. You can also be legally convicted of rape if the court is convinced that you put the person in a "particularly vulnerable situation."

There are over a half million Muslims in Sweden mostly from the Middle East and Northern Africa
Out of those only 110,000 are members of a congregation and only 25,000 actively practice
I can see these incidents in Sweden etc terrorize a lot of Americans, but really the Swedes are pretty good at handling these things

Their maximum sentence of 6 years might make them more willing to have such a broad definition.

I think you're right though that immigrants in Sweden are much more likely to receive rape convictions. Stats show that people from North Africa, Iraq, and Italy (???) are over 10 times more likely.

Oh, I'm definitely not saying to compare Sweden's rape rate with, say, South Africa's. It's much broader, and graphs show that there was a sudden massive boost in the numbers whenever it was (1998 or so iirc) that they broadened the definition of rape. Even that aside, the general trend has been strongly upwards, unlike the USA or many Western/Northern European nations that have been flat or negative.

This is already happening; I know people that blamed France's anti-burka laws as the primary reason behind the recent Paris attacks, for example. (Not to mention Charlie Hebdo or the Draw Mohammed convention).

I really don't think that France & Germany will go quietly into the night. There will be strong, nationalist backlash that liberals the world round will condemn. Eastern Europe is already changing politically, mobilizing their militaries and erecting walls & fences.
