refresh rate(tref) value should correspond with?

This is for an A64 system only. Spec is in sig.

Should tref value correspond with actual speed(or closest speed) of ram or the divider? Eg. My ram is running at 216mhz according to cpu-z on a 166mhz divider. Should I set my tref to 166mhz or 200mhz for stability?

If you guys have no clue what I'm talking about. It's the RAM timing of tref I'm refering to. It's usually seen as a RAM timing option on DFI boards for A64 or A64 Tweaker.

That is the what the memory divider is running at, if you set that to 200, your ram will be running at 260mHz as per your HTT, and a value of 166 would put you at 216mHz like it is now..

There is no setting for better "stability", that is just the divider you are currently using.

You're currently using Abit and I'm not sure you have that setting in the bios but DFI does. Load up A64 tweaker, if you don't have it PM me or google it. A64 tweaker as well as DFI mb's will give you like 30 options for your memory timings on an athlon 64. You can change timings such as cas, ras, trp(row precharge), ras to cas delay, rate refresh(tref), etc. etc.

What I'm currently talking about is not the divider, however, whether the tref should be the same as the divider.

Please let me know if you or anyone needs me to elaborate further.

I'm not sure what that does either. I didn't need to mess with it though. It seems to be different than the divider (called memclk in A64 tweaker), as it stayed at 200 by default when I changed the divider to something else.

Thats strange though. I just built a rig using Biostar Tforce and when I changed the divider, that also changed to the same as the divider automatically. But on DFI it's different so I'm a little perplexed.

This is the best theory on Tref I have seen Tref calculation
