Hey guys.

I have a Viewsonic P95f monitor. I really like it, but I want to get *more* out of it. It's capable of doing 1600x1200 @ 92Hz. The thing is, I only have the option of going up to 85Hz in Windows. Is there a way to tweak that out so that I can get all 92 of my Hz?

Thanks.

Get a tweak utility for your video card.

Matrox cards have them built in.

Something that lets you set the refresh rate based on the resolution.

So a tweak utility, eh? I'll pick one up when I get my video card back from RMA (sent it out today). I'm stuck on an S3 Trio card doing 800x600x72Hz with 16 bit color.

The letters are huge on my monitor!

Using plug and play drivers or viewsonics driver? Install the viewsonic one if your using plug and play. My monitor is supposed to have 100hz @ 800x600 but only goes up to 85hz with plug and play drivers.

i recommend that once you have the correct drivers installed for the video card and monitor that you get a utility like ReForce. What it does is that it allows you to tweak around with refresh rate settings. ReForce is specially made for windows 2000 and Windows XP that only go up to 75Hz when you are playing games. Reforce allows you to tweak that to go as high as you want. Sorry i cant get the link ... just type it in on any search engine....its a free utility.
