refresh brightness after bioshock

So after i play bioshock which has slightly increased brightness and i exit to windows, my brightness stays increased and everything is bright and white and annoying. i cant find a way to return it to normal other than restarting. anyone have a possible solution?

I know exactly what you are talking about, though not w/ bioshock (i don't have the game).

Have you tried like doing a resolution change? Would be faster than waiting for a reboot.

I run RivaTuner, and find that opening the low-level color settings window resets the brightness level.

I have a very useful file in my Natural Selection installation folder (mod for the original Half-Life) named ResetGamma and double left-cliking on it does exactly that, it's an .EXE without any icon and its size is 256KB, if you want the file I could send it to you via e-mail.
