Refinery fire in Tulsa

shiner

Lots of thunderstorms in the area tonight. Did lighting set this off? No idea...breaking news right now and don't see any links for it online yet. Pretty rare for them to break away from weather coverage when tornadoes are in the area.

Watching this station live so I'm guessing they might have something about the fire on their website soon.

Looks like one of the storage tanks is on fire. No idea what product is in it. One guess was diesel due to the extra thick black smoke.

what city is it near?

I dunno.......Sacramento???

Ok...not looking that bad now. 1 storage tank is involved but refinery fire crews have it under control

lol

it's under control

It was put out as of 11:33pm last night...I would say that was under control.

The flames coming out of those ports were a good thing. From what they are saying this morning they are there to allow fumes to escape and burn so that the tank does not explode.
