Reference for Win2k

After many years of win9x, I finally decided to go to a flavor of NT. Decided against XP primarily because of the draconian registration, and got w2k.

Congradulations and please use the search function, many of the questions you will have have been answered before.

...and to put it bluntly (sorry, lost the connection and the message self-posted somehow) I pretty much don't have a clue. I'm having trouble with really simple stuff, so, rather than post about the specific questions, I'm wondering if there are any recommendations for a book that can help someone who is a relative beginner, but still has enough depth to give a real feel for this OS.
thanks for any help-

LOL, I managed to post inbetween your posts.

I like Microsofts own books, Running Windows 2000 Professional, has done me pretty good so far.

ditto on the Microsoft Press books! They are truly excellent.

Congrats on finally having the courage to Graduate on from High School 😀

My OS education system:

DOS - Preschool
Mac OS - Elementary School
Win 9x - High School
W2K/XP - College (Bachelors Deg.)
Linux - University (Doctorate)
Your Own OS creation - Professorship

Hey I *told* you I was clueless!
Seriously, though, I tinker around (read:break) the computer a lot and was kind of scared to go with XP. Not saying it was the right decision, but 5+ years of win98 was enough. I started with that one in a consumer preview around Jan of '98.

MedicBob, LOL, great trick. Bet ya can't do that again!
BTW, I did do a search, but didn't come up with anything.
Glad to hear MS' books are useful. Guess they Ought to be, but you never know-

Yep, and I can see I'm going to have to study this time.
Linux, I attempted to put on a partition and managed to break my w2k installation (Mandrake 9).
I had a real party after that, trying to get rid of the Linux and start over. Don't know if I'll be making it to University.
